Frequently Asked Questions

Can I just become a member and come and go as I want?

Unfortunately this is not that kind of gym, we run training programs on the indicated hours.

How can I pay?

We have a few different options:

  • Set up monthly recurring payments through Xplor (Visa, MasterCard, ACH bank routing), charged on the first of the month until you cancel.

  • Pay via Zelle, Venmo, Paypal, for six months in advance for 8% off, or a year in advance for 12% off. Please create an account in Xplor so we can find you.  (Teachers/First Responders/Nurses/Military 5% off.)

What is Xplor?

Xplor (formerly, Triib) is free to create an account. In Xplor you can see groups, times, availability, and purchase training.

Is payment per session or per month?

Training groups are per month, the monthly fee is the same regardless if you make it to the weekly sessions.

Personal training is scheduled with your trainer and can be purchased one session at a time or monthly.

Please give 24 notice when canceling a personal training session to avoid a $40 fee for a missed session.

Will weight training make me bulky and muscly?

Women, likely no to bulky, but yes to a fit, lean muscle frame. Unless you are on a bodybuilding nutrition plan and doing excess training outside of our facility, you will not become bulky.

Men, depending on your age, diet, supplements, you will develop a fit athletic build but not the build of a bodybuilder.

Will training help me lose weight?

YES. If you are more than 15 pounds overweight then absolutely yes. More muscle means more calories burned around the clock. Lifting will change you more and faster than other methods of exercise. You are likely to gain muscle mass, but that is the good stuff.

Do you train kids under 13?

Not at this time, check back in the future for SAQ camps or sports readiness training.

What if I have a new, old, or nagging injury?

Your trainers are well educated and experienced in modifying exercises to improve mobility and reduce impact and inflammation to your joints and injuries. Coach John maintains a clinical license to practice athletic training and has vast experience in injury modalities and therapy.

What should I bring with me to train?

Water bottle, maybe a hand towel, appropriate shoes and clothing.

What is training at Houston Pro Performance like?

You will always be welcomed, introduced, and included to our groups. You will be supported in your goals, meet some awesome comrades, and train with the best of the best coaches. You will sweat and see results, and probably become addicted to training.

Why weight train over crossfit, group fitness, or bootcamp?

While we encourage any activity that gets people moving, weight training with a physiology backed, programmed and periodized training program will change you, build muscle, burn fat, and prevent plateauing, burnout, and injury, that often occur with other exercise regimens.

My daughter is an athlete and wants to do strength and conditioning, will the class be mostly young men?

Your daughter is WELCOME and will be properly included and supported by coaches and the other athletes.

We do not tolerate harassment of any nature.

When is the best time to start?

We can accommodate you at any time. Let's get going, ready when you are.

Can I stop by and check the place out? Can I try a class before I buy?

Absolutely, please do. We will always welcome you in. If you would like to try two classes free before you purchase, please check group times and availability on Xplor (or call), and come on over! Just a quick waiver and you can jump on in.

How many people are in a training group?

Up to 16 but no more. Checkout our websites for class availability. They fill up fast!

The strength and conditioning gym is separate from the personal training space.
